Downtown Greensboro

This location has so much to offer – from excellent street views, to the openness of parking decks, choosing to shoot in DGSO will result in a dreamy editorial feel.

best day/time for this location: Saturday & Sunday afternoons.

Downtown Greensboro – Parking Decks

Parking decks are free on weekends, which makes them ideal for a shoot location! There are two decks in particular that I love — Bellemeade Street and Greene Street. The Bellemeade is shorter and offers more buildings in the background, while the Greene Street gives you open skies and neutral colors.

DGSO – UNCG’s College Ave

Beautifully lined with well-kept greenery, brick-paved walkways, benches, and picturesque buildings, the campus of UNCG is a go-to location. The parking decks on campus are free on weekends, or you can park on Tate Street for a short walk to College Ave. Be sure to stop by Tate St Coffee and order a Black & Tan — do it for me!

There are also several nice buildings if you want more of a business/academic feel – the building pictured here is perfect for headshots!

Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden

Just off of Friendly Avenue is a beautiful park and garden, the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden. Complete with beautiful walkways, historically constructed buildings, and lush plant life, this is the perfect location for a couples’ or family shoot. *NOTE: this location requires a permit, which is acquired by purchasing set hours beforehand. This WILL result in an upcharge for the coverage of the permit – $50/hr on a weekend, $25/hr M-F*

The Bog Garden at Benjamin Park

The Bog Garden features a boardwalk leading out to a bog, with some trails going off into the woods. There’s even a pretty waterfall! The Bog Garden is located just across the street from the Bicentennial Garden.

Revolution Mill

Revolution Mill is a historic flannel mill that has been restored and turned into apartments, workspaces, and an event venue. Beautiful brick, original smokestack columns, and murals make this an ideal location for an editorial shoot or headshots with an industrial feel.
